 Description

Space4 Concept Development White-Paper Grants:

  • These concept development white-paper grants will enhance the Space4 mission by developing cultivating research ideas with faculty and partners who will participate in Space Domain Awareness research and any research supporting the mission of the Department of Defense and the intelligence community.
  • This program will fund faculty/staff to develop 2–5 page white papers that would be shovel-ready to submit to any funding agency as opportunities arise.
  • Any faculty/staff member interested in these awards will submit the concept development Quad Chart template provided under "Supporting Documents."
  • Once selected, recipients will work with Space4 to develop the white paper and finalize it. The grant-required deliverable is a white paper that can be shopped around by Space4 Center staff and RDS in coordination with the faculty/staff member.
  • We expect to award 10 grants per year for a maximum amount of $10,000 per faculty.

Award Details:

  • Review: Two weeks after white-paper briefing to Space4 the selection will be decided; recipients will then develop the concept with Space4.
  • Special Priority: These concept development award grants are released on a first come basis.
  • The latest possible submission date is May 17, 2024, or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.
