Andrea D'Ambrosio
Andrea D’Ambrosio was born in Frosinone, Italy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in 2015. At the same university, he obtained a Master’s in Space and Astronautical Engineering in 2017. He completed his Ph.D. program in astronomy, astrophysics, and space science at Sapienza University of Rome in 2021. From January to July 2020, and from January to July 2021, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Arizona, where he started to collaborate with SSEL, led by Prof. Roberto Furfaro. From February 2022 to January 2023, he was a postdoctoral research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He joined the SSEL as a postdoctoral research associate in February 2023.
His main research fields involve optimal guidance and control, orbital risk and analysis, evolutionary models for the space environment, optimization algorithms, and machine learning algorithms applied to astrodynamics.
