Sophia Feller

Born in Ohio, Sophia Feller grew up watching the bugs and climbing trees in her woodland backyard by day and watching the stars twinkle by night. She went on to graduate from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology in 2017. She then earned a Master of Science in Student Affairs and Higher Education in 2019 from Miami University to focus on learning best practices in student advising, recruitment and educational leadership in STEM fields. 

Moving to Tucson in 2019, Sophia began working for the University of Arizona and joined the Space4 Center in 2024. Past research has included native bee identification and aiding in the study of the impacts of reclaimed mining land on pollinators. She is excited to be working in spacecraft and space materials research and will be assisting with lab operations, data collection, and undergraduate mentoring.
